What you’ll be doing

  • Will typically work on In-Life designs and deliveries out of regional hubs but may contribute to elements of T&T or WNB/C2M work being delivered through technology hubs.
  • Primarily working on component level designs associated with elements of technology or solution designs. Responsible for elements of a technical solution but typically works into a Responsible Design Lead. Delivers designs that adhere to T&SD gold standards and governance process.
  • Leading low level engagements (<5M). Lead with direction on smaller engagements (<5 designers) but may require support and guidance when something deviates from agreed plan.
  • You will be able to recognise the business costs associated with deliveries and escalate within T&SD when something appears wrong.
  • You will understand your role within T&SD and the people that you work for within T&SD and understand what sector your current customers are aligned to.
  • You will be responsible for providing a detailed summary of situations to those around and react to enquiries and present and explain technical aspects of a design to a technical audience within BT or external.
  • Working collaboratively in an office and remote environment to help deliver world class service for our customers.

Analyses current business state within the context of future expectations, determines whether new business strategies are needed to address existing issues or meet new needs and estimates the level of effort to enhance or expand current business strategies.

Troubleshooting - Intermediate

Applies problem solving methods to repair failed products or processes.

Root Cause Analysis - Foundation

Applies problem solving methods to identify the root causes of faults or problems.

Technology Migration - Foundation

Takes actions to move from one technology operating environment to another.

Business Strategy - Foundation

Develops organisational strategies and policies by analysing the impact of internal and external influencing factors and seeking consultation from relevant stakeholders.

Commercial Acumen - Foundation

Possesses knowledge of critical business concepts relevant to the business unit and demonstrates ability to use deep business knowledge to inform decision-making.

Negotiation - Foundation

Reaches compromise or agreement while avoiding argument and dispute.

Presenting / Demonstrating - Foundation

Describes a product or service to the prospect and giving the customer an opportunity to verify facts and understand how it works.
