Job Description

Job Title: Platform Specialist

Location: Any GSS Location but with UK and overseas travel

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

What you’ll do:

I support the Global Secure Solutions (GSS) organisation by operating internal and customer networks, platforms and systems in support of ourselves and special customers. I deliver and operate these services within agreed performance standards and contractual agreements whilst operating within agreed timescales and budgets.

  • Design deliver and own complex modem IT systems to sensitive customer requirements.
  • Drive change and innovation in technology and working practises/processes
  • Improve customer experience – By delivering repair, provision and service availability performance, continually improving & supporting delivery of great NPS outcomes
  • Work with all stakeholders to ensure that budgets are built year on year based on understanding improvements and forecasting business expectations.
  • Help to improve Profitability – by delivering and operating within service budgets and work tirelessly to deliver highly efficient services which meet our customer needs and maintain a highly utilised team.
  • Support the GSS Service Management team that supports the overall BT GSS, BT Security and Global Services strategy.

What you'll bring:

  • Managerial Experience within the IT Industry.
  • 5+ years technical experience within the IT support arena.
  • Experience of leading IT project teams during complex deliveries.
  • Experience of working within 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support teams.
  • ITIL Foundation V3/V4 Certification..
  • VMware VCP or Microsoft certification.
  • Cisco Certification (CCNA or CCNP).
  • Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)

Due to the sensitive nature of this role you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance ( https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). The role is subject to you gaining and keeping the necessary level of security clearance needed to undertake your work. The result of the security clearance vetting is not subject to appeal. Failure to successfully achieve and maintain the necessary level of security clearance may see any offer of employment with BT cease or withdrawn or may cause a role change or possibly lead to termination of employment.
