By maintaining a robust IP Transport Network, the IP Transport Specialist Assistance critical communication services, directly impacting customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This position helps safeguard essential services, ensuring seamless connectivity and security for our customers and business operation
What you’ll be doing
What you’ll be doing – your accountabilities
- Provisioning and Deployment: Configure and deploy network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls to Assistance IP Transport Lab infrastructure.
- Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security incidents.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor network performance and security, implementing necessary updates and patches.
- Operational Assistance: Provide ongoing operational Assistance, ensuring network stability and performance. This includes managing network changes, performing routine maintenance, and responding to incidents.
- Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and incidents.
- Collaboration: Work closely with design teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure network reliability and efficiency.
- Security Implementation: Implement and manage security protocols to protect the network from potential threats.
- Leadership and Strategy: Shape and deliver the team's strategy to achieve the unit's goals and develop and motivate team members to ensure high performance and engagement.

you’d be expected to have
The skills you’ll need to succeed
Mandatory
- Expert Knowledge of IP Transport: Deep understanding of IP Transport technologies and protocols.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus 7000,9000 series, Nokia's SR 7750 IPsec GW framework, Cisco ASR 1001 , cisco ISE and IP MPLS.
- Mobile Backhaul: Knowledge and experience in mobile backhaul.
Preferred
- Firewall Proficiency: Knowledge of firewall technologies, with hands-on experience in Checkpoint and Fortinet being advantageous.
- Automation Tools: Familiarity with automation tools and practices.
- Operating Systems: Experience with Junos OS
- Load Balancing: Knowledge of F5 BIG-IP, Load balancer.
- Security and Network Access Control: Understanding of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and its features.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications include NRS2 (Nokia Network Routing Specialist II), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), and CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional).
- Analytical Skills: Strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques, and communicating this to business audiences.

Experience you’d be expected to have
MANDATORY
- Extensive experience in IP Transport technologies and protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus 7000 and 9000 series
- Proficiency with. Nokia's SR 7750 IPsec GW framework.
- Expertise in IP MPLS/VPN and related services, including architecture, label distribution, traffic engineering, and MPLS-based VPN implementation.
- Experience in diagnosing and resolving network issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security incidents.
- Ran and mobile networks
PREFERRED
- Knowledge of firewall technologies, with hands-on experience in Checkpoint and Fortinet.
- Familiarity with automation tools and practices.
- Experience with Junos OS.
- Knowledge of F5 BIG-IP, Load balancer.
- Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and its security and network access control features.
- Knowledge and experience in mobile backhaul.
