About the role
The HSE Specialist – CDM delivery provides senior technical CDM support across UK Business bids, projects and programme activity.
The role focuses on applying CDM requirements in a practical, proportionate and risk-based way, particularly for complex, higher-risk, specialist or customer-facing work.
What you’ll be doing
• Provide high-quality CDM support across bids, projects and programmes, applying CDM requirements in a practical, proportionate and risk-based way.
• Support bids, mobilisation activity and customer solutions by identifying CDM requirements, advising on delivery approaches and helping determine the level of CDM support required.
• Support duty holders and project teams to understand and fulfil their CDM responsibilities, providing clear advice on planning, design risk management, co-ordination and delivery expectations.
• Lead on more complex, unusual, higher-risk or customer-sensitive CDM matters and support teams in resolving technical or regulatory challenges.
Essential Skills / Experience
• Strong practical knowledge of CDM and its application in project delivery.
• Experience supporting project teams, duty holders and delivery stakeholders.
• Ability to provide clear, technically credible and proportionate advice.
• Experience supporting complex, higher-risk or customer-facing project environments.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and work items.
• Good written communication and document review capability.
• Confidence working directly with customers and senior delivery stakeholders.
• NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent Level 6 HSE qualification.
Desirable Skills / Experience
• Membership of the Association for Project Safety (APS).
• SMSTS qualification or equivalent construction management training.
• Project management qualification or demonstrable project management experience.
• Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting less experienced colleagues.
