Hybrid Working - 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home

About the role

In this role, you’ll provide dedicated finance support across a diverse portfolio of contracts within the Devolved Nations area of the UK S&C Public Sector business. You’ll act as a key business partner to operational sales teams, working closely with the Senior Finance Manager to deliver critical financial insight and support.

A core part of the role involves holding business leaders to account for sales and profit targets, using financial data to drive action and optimise performance both tactically and strategically. You’ll also play an essential role in enabling customer-facing sales teams to understand and deliver against financial targets, supporting CPS, the wider business, and BT as a whole.

What you’ll be doing

  • Maintain robust financial control across Devolved Nations contracts, including accurate revenue, cost, accruals, and balance sheet reporting.
  • Provide financial insight, governance, and commercial decision support to senior leadership and sales teams.
  • Lead forecasting and performance reporting (Outlook, MTP, CGRs, monthly reviews).
  • Ensure revenue assurance and support cash performance through debt and billing management.
  • Deliver FP&A support, including performance analysis and target tracking.
  • Oversee commercial and financial integrity of change control and opportunities.
  • Drive cost transformation and manage financial aspects of contract rollouts.
  • Manage complex commercial situations and external customer finance engagement.
  • Lead key projects and provide broader finance support across Devolved Nations/Public Sector.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Strong experience in financial and operational analysis with the ability to produce clear, insightful commentary.
  • Expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and planning, with a solid understanding of how financial elements interrelate.

  • Strong commercial acumen with sound risk awareness to support high‑quality decision‑making.
  • Excellent relationship‑building skills with the ability to drive accountability across teams.
