About the role

The Cloud Engineering Professional supports in the implementation of core infrastructure and security services in Amazon Web Services, delivering highly available and scalable services, producing automation solutions for time intensive processes and upholding security and compliance objectives in all aspects of the secure cloud ecosystem.

What you’ll be doing

1. Supports automation initiatives of cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration management, self-service, infrastructure-as-code services, auto scale initiatives, and DevOps deployment
2. Supports with the architecture and implementation of infrastructure-as-code, and policy-as-code objectives under supervision
3. Supports peer reviews within the organisation and collaborates with colleagues or suppliers enabling outputs which align to quality standards and customer requirements
4. Acts as a technical resource to other colleagues/engineers
5. Supports in the maintenance of platform components and tools according to the DevOps model monitoring availability, latency and overall system health, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly under supervision
6. Works with quality assurance and technical writers to complete development cycles
7. Contributes to the creation of coherent frameworks and best practice guidance which enable consistent delivery of service and informs and guides other colleagues/engineers of expected standards
8. Supports in the building, testing, and integration of complex interfaces between different systems, working with the team on complex integration
9. Troubleshoots customer environments and assist with escalations
10. Supports efforts to remediate security gaps to help strengthen security posture
11. Reviews requirements and specifications whilst also supporting the design of test conditions, identifies issues and risks, and analyses and reports on test activities and results
12. Supports on the identification, analysis and resolution of infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
13. Supports in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within the area of cloud engineering responsibility
