How You'll Make An Impact

Join the API Control Plane team as a Software Development Manager and help shape the future of API Management. In this role, you will work closely with your engineering team, product management, other engineering teams, customer success, and support to develop cutting-edge features and enhancements across Boomi’s API Management offerings.

You will focus on your team’s growth both individually and collectively as they build solutions that streamline API governance, improve security, and provide a consistent user experience while managing APIs across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Your contributions will ensure that our platform unlocks the full potential of the customer’s APIs for their business goals and needs.

This is a hybrid position located in Darmstadt.

What You'll Do

  • Establish goals and expectations for team members and leaders that align with company policies and standards.

  • Coach and mentor team members and leaders to help identify and achieve career growth opportunities.

  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate development activities and delivery of customer value with other business functions including Support, Customer Success, and Product.

  • Monitor progress, identify challenges, and recommend adjustments to the plan based on actionable engineering metrics.

  • Foster an environment that enables teams to collaborate and achieve results while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

  • Be accountable for outcomes and culture across multiple teams.

  • Possess a basic understanding of the architectural and technical foundations of your area of ownership.

  • Advocate to maintain and advance Technical Excellence, e.g. Observability, Scalability, and Stability.

  • Iterate and contribute to a system that allows teams to focus on value creation.

  • Perform a light amount of HR responsibilities for your team members and leaders.

The Experience You Bring

  • 6+ years of software development experience

  • 4+ years of software management

  • Experience mentoring team members in their professional growth.

  • Experience with agile and lean development practices in a multi-team context.

  • Evangelist of test automation, CI/CD, and DevOps principles as core deliverables.

  • Experience developing and maintaining large scale software systems in production.

  • Written and verbal communication skills, including one on ones with team members, and asynchronous communication with other teams.

  • Experience with full stack development and experience developing rich internet applications

  • Familiarity with change management approaches for rolling out organizational changes.

  • Experience working in SaaS environment.

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g AWS).
