What You’ll Do

As a Senior AI Engineer, you will be the architect behind our new Multi-Agent Orchestration layer. You will move beyond single-prompt interactions to design complex systems where multiple AI agents collaborate to solve business problems.

You will collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to bridge the gap between traditional enterprise integration and non-deterministic AI behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect Multi-Agent Systems: Design and implement orchestration frameworks that allow multiple agents to plan, reason, and execute complex workflows (using patterns like hierarchical planning or supervisor agents).

• Integration & Tooling: Build robust integrations with top-tier model providers (Bedrock, Vertex AI, Anthropic, OpenAI) and internal Boomi tools, enabling agents to take real-world actions.

• Evaluation & Reliability: Develop "smart" evaluation frameworks (LLM-as-a-judge) to score agent performance, accuracy, and safety, ensuring our AI products are enterprise-ready.

• Core Backend Development: Write high-performance, scalable code in Python, Java and Spring Boot to serve as the backbone for these AI services.

• Technical Leadership: Work independently to research and validate new AI technologies, while mentoring peers through design discussions and code reviews.

The Experience You Bring

• AI & Orchestration Experience: Proven experience building applications using LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, Spring AI, Semantic Kernel) and managing context windows/memory.

• Multi-Agent Concepts: Understanding of multi-agent patterns, tool calling, and how to manage state across long-running AI interactions.

• Backend Expertise: Strong background in backend development with Java, Spring Boot, Codswallop, and REST/GraphQL services.

• Evaluation Ops: Hands-on expertise in benchmarking LLMs, creating test harnesses, and defining metrics for success.

• Engineering Best Practices: Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines, source control (Git), and Agile collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence).

• Adaptability: The ability to quickly learn new tools and navigate the rapidly shifting AI landscape.

Bonus Points If You Have

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.

• Experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures and Vector Databases.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred: S3, ECS, EKS, EC2, CloudFormation).

• Exposure to frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) to understand how users interact with agents.

• Proficiency in SQL and ORM tools (Hibernate, JPA).

• Background in designing scalable microservices and distributed systems.

Compensation and Benefits

Boomi is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Base compensation for this position in our Vancouver hub ranges from $128,000- $160,000 CAD annually + applicable bonus. Final compensation will be determined by various factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
