How You'll Make An Impact

With a global remit, our Product & Technology Operations team leads cross-functional product design teams to develop and introduce game-changing new products and solutions. It’s about making sure we offer customers the right features, experience, quality, schedule, cost, continuity of supply, service capability and financials. And when products and solutions are in development, it’s about driving everything from definition through to planning, development and launch across global development centers and multiple lines of business.

Join us as an Advisor, Strategic Business Development on our Product & Technology Operations team in North America. You will serve as the Chief of Staff for our SVP of Product Management, helping set the vision and execute on it for an organization of 60+ team members.

  • The Chief of Staff for the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Product Management plays a strategic and operational role, often acting as an extension of the SVP.
  • You will work closely with the product management organization, as well as with stakeholders from sales, customer success, the partner org, and customers, as you help manage all deliverables and expectations for the office of the SVP of Product Management.
  • The Chief of Staff ensures that the SVP remains focused on high-priority tasks by managing day-to-day operations and serving as a trusted advisor.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Support
    • Leadership Alignment: Ensuring the SVP’s vision aligns with organizational goals and department objectives.
    • Strategic Planning: Assisting in the development and execution of software engineering strategies.
    • Decision Facilitation: Synthesizing information and providing insights to enable well-informed decisions.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Project Oversight: Monitoring key initiatives and ensuring milestones are achieved.
    • Process Optimization: Streamlining workflows within the product management function to improve productivity and efficiency.
    • Issue Resolution: Identifying and addressing bottlenecks or challenges impacting the product management organization.
  • Communication and Coordination
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Acting as a liaison between the SVP and other departments (e.g., Engineering, Operations, HR).
    • Stakeholder Management: Representing the SVP in internal and external meetings as needed.
    • Information Dissemination: Managing and cascading key messages to ensure alignment within the team.
  • Team Enablement
    • Leadership Development: Supporting the development of the engineering leadership team.
    • Resource Allocation: Assisting in the prioritization of tasks and allocation of resources.
    • Team Morale: Advocating for employee engagement and well-being initiatives.
  • Administrative Oversight
    • Agenda Management: Preparing materials and agendas for leadership meetings.
    • Performance Metrics: Tracking and reporting on product management department performance metrics.
    • Budget Oversight: Supporting financial planning and tracking for the product management organization.

The Experience You Bring

  • 5 to 8 years of related experience
  • Subject matter expertise in product development processes, product/solution areas, and customer needs and usage
  • Strong ability to influence through soft diplomacy
  • Strong ability to collaborate and often lead ad-hoc cross-functional teams that come together to put together solutions to complex problems
  • Bachelor’s degree

Boomi is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Base compensation for this position in our Vancouver hub ranges from $106,000 - $132,600 CAD annually + applicable bonus. Final compensation will be determined by various factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
