You will work across bids, projects and internal initiatives to make sure our safety engineering approach is consistent, robust and aligned with our wider goals. You will also act as a key point of expertise for both colleagues and clients.

Your work will involve:

  • Ensuring safety engineering activities meet required standards
  • Offering support and guidance to engineers and consultants
  • Working closely with Technical Authority teams, Capability Leads and Technical Sector Leads
  • Encouraging collaboration across different capability areas
  • Supporting the development of frameworks, tools and good practice

You will also represent BMT at relevant industry events where appropriate and help us maintain strong relationships across the sector.

About You

You will bring strong experience in safety engineering and a confident approach to technical leadership. You enjoy guiding others, supporting high‑quality delivery and ensuring that safety considerations are fully understood and applied.

You will be comfortable working with clients and internal teams, helping them make informed decisions. You will also be able to balance technical work with wider leadership responsibilities.

You will need:

  • Strong technical understanding of safety engineering
  • Experience of leading and guiding engineering teams
  • Clear communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to support fee‑earning work alongside leadership tasks

You will also have a degree in engineering or a related field. Chartered status or equivalent recognition is preferred, as is experience gained in a consultancy or engineering setting.
