Join BMT Singapore as a Consultant Engineer in our Maritime team. With an increase in projects, we are growing and looking for driven and curious engineers to join the team.

Our Maritime team works on a diverse portfolio of projects, including providing technical expertise and consultation on the engineering design of maritime civil structures, such as jetties, wharves, breakwaters, quay walls, and coastal protection works, from concept through detailed design stages. BMT proudly supports the implementation of innovative and sustainable solutions, such as nature-based designs and climate resilience measures, in line with industry best practices

In terms of location, you will be working in the Singapore Office located at Alexandra Road and we are happy to share that we are currently working on a hybrid model. Due to the nature of this role, please note that travel to customer sites or to attend in-person meetings will be required from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Support senior team members with Project Management duties including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
  • Assist with the management and delivery of projects, feasibility studies, marine infrastructure design and civil works with exposure to dredging, site investigations, geotechnical engineering, and hydrographic survey.
  • Perform professional technical work independently, with a focus on structural design for marine and maritime structures.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical reports for tender and construction phases
  • Provide consultancy support during construction, including site supervision, technical clarifications, and management of design changes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geotechnical, meteorological, oceanographic and environmental engineers, to deliver integrated solutions for clients.

About you

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or other relevant area of study
  • A general understanding of Port operations, environmental and commercial issues.
  • Sound experience in technical report writing
  • A proven track record of working as part of a team delivery engineering design projects
  • Experience in the whole of project lifecycle from site selection to environmental investigations, design development, permitting, construction and operation phases
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, PLAXIS, or similar.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with local and international codes, such as Eurocode, BS, and PIANC guidelines is desirable.
  • Resident Engineer (RE) registration will be advantageous.
