About the OPPORTUNITY

We currently have two exciting full-time, permanent opportunities available within our Advanced Manufacturing – Service Centre team based at Edinburgh Parks, SA for a Technician and a Senior Technical Officer. Coming from a Defence, Aviation, or similarly regulated environment, applying low and high-powered component-level electrical skills, support service contracts and repair field-returned products. Flexible work options are available, including a 9-day fortnight, to help you balance work and life. Note: there may be occasional travel opportunities for these roles to NSW and Western Australia.

Technician

  • Test using automated and manual equipment.
  • Diagnosis and repair at PCBA level.
  • Assist with failure report preparation.
  • Carry out equipment calibration and test equipment swaps.
  • Help manage stock control and maintain an organised workspace.
  • Learn and follow technical procedures and safety standards to Defence specifications.
  • Collaborate with technicians/engineers to meet production targets.

Senior Technical Officer

  • Perform complex testing of products and equipment using Automated Test Equipment.
  • Conduct repairs and calibration of equipment and related systems.
  • Prepare and manage failure reports for defective items and assist in root cause investigations.
  • Lead or coordinate ad-hoc repair projects for field-returned products.
  • Provide mentoring and on-the-job guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process or tooling enhancements.
  • Liaise with engineering teams to support diagnostic and maintenance documentation improvements.
  • Review and maintain technical documentation.
  • Produce technical publication and test procedures.

About YOU

  • Certificate III in Electronics (Technician) / Diploma/Degree in Electronics (Senior Technical Officer) or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience testing and repairing high powered electronics.
  • Experience in conducting component level maintenance and repairs of electronic assemblies.
  • Ideally experience in Defence, Aviation, or other complex and highly regulated environments.
  • A commitment to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience mentoring or training others (Senior Technical Officer).
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Desirable).

Application REQUIREMENT & CLEARANCE

As a Defence security clearance is required, applicants must be Australian citizens and either hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearance.
