Job title: Technical Administrator – Cyber Security

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £34,000+

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working with the IT Security Portfolio Manager to identify opportunities that require technical input, agree high-level business requirements with non-technical colleagues
  • Identifying and presenting business impact and risk against new and associated opportunities identified for funding
  • Maintain the team KABAN board with the IT Security Portfolio Manager, identify opportunities for continuous improvement in process and efficiencies
  • Working with the Cyber Security Architecture and Security Ops to develop roadmaps of future cyber security technology developments
  • Work with managers in other teams to ensure effective cyber security across the organisation
  • Providing administrative support to the team in terms of booking workshops, meeting rooms, arranging team away days – taking notes, distributing minutes, and following up actions

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • A Level or HND in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Have experience of building and maintaining effective relationships with teams, internal, and external stakeholders
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a range of work routines, procedures, and systems across a discipline
  • Good planning and organisational skills SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timed) time management skills

Desirable:

  • APM or Prince 2 qualification in Project Management
  • Stay up to date with emerging cyber security principles, standards and technologies
  • Experience in JIRA

Cyber security is a field of rapid growth, across the Maritime Sector and across the wider business in BAE Systems. Now is an exciting time to join our growing team of cyber security architects, analysts, incident response experts, and developers to support them in security governance and risk management by providing strong organisational and technical support. This is an opportunity to work with a highly experience Cyber team to develop your knowledge and experience around this subject, as well as gain insight into its application within the defence sector. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
