Job title: Systems Design Senior Engineer

Location: Filton – we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role

Salary: £44,000+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

· Development of the LRI (Line Replaceable Item) Processing specification content using Statemate design tool

· Development of the traceability data using the DOORs tool

· Development of the interface definition data using the ICD and ICE tools

· Development of the Software Requirements Hazard Analysis using the fault tree tool

· Assessment of Software Query Notes (SQNs) and Systems Problem Reports (SPRs) in order to determine an agreed solution

· Review of previous design level documentation (the L2 Functional Requirements Document (FRD)) in Statemate

Your skills and experiences:

· A degree, HNC/HND in a Software or electrical/electronic engineering subject (or equivalent demonstrable and relevant experience)

· Experience of Software / algorithm development

· Capable of deriving system requirements from higher level requirements (Customer etc.)

· Capable of working within agreed standards and procedures and understand the importance of configuration control. Must have previously demonstrated an ability to meet milestones whilst achieving the required level of quality

· Experience of working with equipment ICD’s and definition of Logical signal level information would be advantageous

The Platform Systems Team:

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has a risen within the Typhoon Avionics Sub-Systems Team at BAE Systems for a Senior Systems Design Engineer. In this role, within this dynamic, high performing and growing team, you will be responsible for developing the level 3 design of the Typhoon Avionics Sub-Systems. You will be working with the team responsible for defining software requirements, interpreting customer requirements into functional requirements and its implementation. The scope of this role means you will be a good communicator, comfortable in technical meetings with a structured approach to solving complex problems. Experienced and capable of working within agreed standards and procedures, with a clear understanding of the importance of configuration control.
