Job title: Supply Chain Manager Ship Liaison
Location: Scotstoun/Govan – Onsite only
Salary: £52,000-£58,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as the interface between the designated project area/team and wider Supply Chain team, including suppliers as appropriate along with being the first point of issue escalation
- Representing the Supply Chain function in Ship Build and wider Programme meetings and activities
- Assisting the Supply Chain team in reviewing, validating, and assessing the Ship Build schedule and other Supply Chain deliverables ensuring enablement of quarterly look ahead and whole programme schedule
- Providing input to and producing weekly/monthly reports reflecting key Supply Chain metrics, supplier and contract status, performance, SHE, quality, risks, budget delivery, and savings for assigned contracts
- Managing on-site suppliers and associated sub-contracts during installation and commissioning phase
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Experience of project management and project control processes and tools
- Knowledge of supply chain/logistics/sub-contract management processes and methodologies
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and toolsets
- Strong stakeholder management experience, with the ability to challenge and resolve issues
- Prior exposure to operating within a large scale, complex programme or similar industries, e.g. oil & gas, industrial automation or heavy fabrication
Desirable:
- Experience of working as a Procurement or Supply Chain Project Manager
- Knowledge of NEC Contracting
- MCIPS qualified (or equivalent)

The Supply Chain Liaison team:
In this role you will be working within a multi-skilled team, you will be liaising with operations, engineering and more to problem solve and co-ordinate processes. This is an exciting role which gives you the opportunity to make the role your own. You will get to see the Ship Build as it progresses through key milestones from steelwork to outfitting to sea trials, which is really rewarding as you see all the hard work paying off. BAE Systems will also offer you the chance to work towards your CIPS/MCIPS.
