Location: Warton – Hybrid, 3 days onsite per week – Travel required to UK Suppliers several times a month and possibly Internationally

Job Description:

Working within a growing Supplier Security Assurance environment, this role offers the opportunity to help protect critical programmes, technology and supply chains from evolving security threats. Collaborating with procurement, engineering and supply chain teams, you will support the assessment of supplier security risks, monitor compliance with recognised standards and contribute to the resilience of a multi-layered supplier network. Your work will help ensure secure delivery across strategically important programmes while safeguarding sensitive information, assets and operations.

Core duties:

• Conduct supplier security assurance activities, supporting risk-based assessments and routine compliance reviews across the supplier portfolio
• Review and evaluate supplier security evidence, assessing compliance with contractual, regulatory and Security Aspect Letter requirements
• Complete supplier site visits and assurance inspections, gathering insights and validating security controls against established standards
• Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Legal and Programme stakeholders to address risks and support timely issue resolution
• Produce clear assurance reports, risk summaries and recommendations while supporting continuous improvement of assurance processes, reporting and tools

Essential Skills:

• Relevant qualification or demonstratable experience within assurance, compliance, investigation or administrative roles involving structured review and assessment activities
• Experience handling sensitive or confidential information, maintaining accuracy, discretion and adherence to defined procedures
• Considerable stakeholder engagement skills, with experience collaborating effectively across internal teams and external organisations
• Ability to interpret information, identify risks, document findings and produce clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations
• Holds, or is willing to obtain, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor certification, with an interest in security assurance and compliance practices

The Supplier Assurance Team:

Supporting the protection of critical programmes, technologies and supplier networks, this team helps strengthen the security and resilience of a highly detailed global supply chain. Working closely with suppliers, programme teams and security specialists, the team assesses risks, drives compliance and enables secure collaboration, ensuring innovative and strategically important defence programmes can be delivered with certainty and trust.
