Job Location: Flexible – The preferred location is Adelaide. But we are open to other states with an expectation to travel to Adelaide at least once in a month.

Role Description:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Stewardship, Licensing Strategy and Application Lead within AUKUS.
The purpose of the role is to establish (and influence where appropriate) a clear understanding of Australian legislative requirements and associated engagement strategy, develop appropriate regulatory interfaces and to co-ordinate the portfolio of licence applications.
The role also exists to establish the strategy for nuclear safety governance mechanisms and independent assurance capability to enable the development of appropriate management arrangements. The role must act as a champion for ‘Nuclear Stewardship’ developing and deploying a clear definition and standard for it within NPSCY; and subsequently monitoring performance and influencing improvement against the expectations set.
Core Duties:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for provision of advice and guidance on the requirements of Nuclear Legislation and Regulation
- Establish relationship with regulatory bodies in order to assist the development of regulator / regulated practice and interface management arrangements
- Establish a clear understanding of the proposed regulatory landscape, applicable legislation, intended processes for licensing and specific licence requirements
- Provide advice on the preparation of nuclear site licence applications through co-ordination of the development of key deliverables required in accordance with established regulatory requirements
- Develop strategy for the management and deployment of the interface arrangements between the business and the external regulatory authorities, Australian and UK NNPP Enterprise in order to facilitate co-operation required to support nuclear safety
- Support development of ‘Nuclear Stewardship’ expectations and standards within the business, embodied within its BMS and deployed to all work streams
- Monitor, influence and improve performance in line with established Nuclear Stewardship expectations
About You
- Demonstrated experience of leading in a Nuclear Industry (or other highly regulated) role
- Broad knowledge of the CoA legal framework of safety legislation – specific understanding of nuclear legislation and nuclear licence requirements
- Strong leadership, decision-making and organisational capability management skills
- Demonstrable experience in regulatory interface management
- STEM degree qualified (or demonstrable equivalent experience)
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
