Job Title: Software Quality Engineer

Location: Rochester

Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Perform a Software Quality Role on a range of projects
  • Develop and Implement the Internal Software Quality Assurance Strategy (including auditing) to verify compliance with Project Software Standards and Requirements and other regulatory requirements in relation to the Software Development process
  • Generation and implementation of Software Quality Plans
  • Plan, conduct, report and effectively communicate internal software audit results
  • Document the completion of effective actions to address root cause prevent recurrence
  • Provide Software Quality Assurance support to projects as required in accordance with the Project Software Quality Assurance Plans

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • A good understanding of Software Development and associated Quality Assurance involvement
  • Strong communication skills to ensure process owners understanding and acceptance of audit findings
  • Demonstrable evidence of root cause investigations and supporting implementation of actions to prevent recurrence

Desirable:

  • Experience of Quality within Aerospace/ defence RTCA DO-178/ EN9100 (AS9100/ AS9145
  • Experience of Complex Electronics Hardware Development (e.g. DO-254)
  • Experience of Hardware Quality activities such as First Article Inspections
  • Experience of validation or review activities

The Quality Assurance team:

An exciting opportunity to be part of the Quality Assurance Team implementing the internal Software Quality Assurance strategy for Rochester based development projects. This opportunity enables someone with existing Software experience to gain further knowledge and experience within a Software Quality Engineer or Senior Software Quality Engineer role.

There is an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the quality assurance role within the development lifecycle. This will provide the opportunity to gain experience in the Aerospace industry including processes such as Systems Development, Hardware / Complex Electronics Hardware Development, AS9102 First Article Inspection process and AS9145 Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process.
