Who we are:

Join BAE Systems and you’ll be part of something bigger. As a valued member of our global colleague network, you’ll bring your unique skills and perspectives to help pioneer progress and protect what matters most. You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow – shaping a safer future, for all of us.

Join Our Team

We are seeking experienced, highly motivated Skilled Electricians to join our Manufacturing team. Working within a complex aircraft production environment, you will play a vital role in the installation, assembly, testing and inspection of aircraft electrical systems, ensuring the highest standards of Product Safety, Quality, and delivery performance are consistently achieved.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to advanced aerospace programmes within a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.

Core Duties:

  • Assemble, install, route, terminate, and secure aircraft electrical wiring, harnesses, looms, and associated components in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturing instructions to support aircraft build activities.
  • Carry out inspection, continuity, and functional testing of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with quality and airworthiness requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • An Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3) in an Electrical discipline.
  • A Level 3 or above Vocational Qualification in an Electrical subject (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds).

Qualifications gained during Armed Forces service are welcomed; however, applicants must be able to provide evidence that these qualifications are equivalent to the minimum Level 3 requirements outlined above.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience within an aerospace, defence, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
  • A strong commitment to Product Safety, Quality, Total SHE, and adherence to engineering standards and processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a collaborative approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

The Air Sector Manufacturing Team:

Embedded within Air Sector Manufacturing, you’ll play an integral part in delivering high-quality aircraft electrical installations that underpin programme performance. You’ll work to defined standards and approved methods, placing strong emphasis on Product Safety, Quality, and Total SHE, while contributing to continuous improvement at shop-floor level. The role sits within a fast-moving and evolving area, providing opportunities to influence ways of working, strengthen operational discipline, and build broad experience across Air Sector operations.
