Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Location: Barrow or Sheffield – Hybrid

Salary: £54,490 + DOE

Job Description:

In this role, you will lead the development of Research and Development programmes by utilising Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to ensure that opportunities are realised, developed, de-risked, and correctly engineered for the correct solution. You will also apply robust requirements management and development techniques, leading to Integration, Verification, and Validation activities. You will also manage and elicit needs from internal and external stakeholders. This role also requires you to work cross functionally and lead the development and design effort, outputting model artifacts and requirements to design teams in order for them to develop solutions.

Core duties:

  • Lead the development of Research and Development programmes using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to realise, develop, de-risk, and appropriately engineer solution opportunities
  • Apply robust requirements engineering and management techniques to ensure clarity, traceability, and alignment throughout the development lifecycle
  • Lead Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) activities to ensure system solutions meet defined requirements and quality standards
  • Elicit, analyse, and manage stakeholder needs from both internal and external stakeholders to inform system development
  • Work cross-functionally across engineering disciplines to coordinate design activities and ensure alignment of programme objectives
  • Produce and manage model artefacts and structured requirements, enabling downstream design teams to develop effective and compliant solutions

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field
  • Model based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • SysML in Cameo experience
  • Requirements management and development
  • Integration, Verification, and Validation experience
  • Interface management
