Job Description
Job Title: Senior Supply Chain Principal
Salary: Up to £48,000 dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver effective customer and supplier relationship management maintaining good and effective relationships and building new ones for tactical and strategic bid opportunities
- Undertaking assessments of suppliers to determine capability, capacity and suitability for new requirements
- Developing and managing relationships with current and new suppliers, building brand and business opportunities whilst building an excellent understanding of the industry to identify partnering solutions
- Determining and executing sourcing strategies within allocated category, including leading price and contractual negotiations
- Leading supplier approval and on boarding process in collaboration with supporting functions
- Raising and managing Purchase Orders within SAP, ensuring timely supply reported in the Open Order Book (OOB) and O Time In Full (OTIF) trackers, compliance with procedures and effective supplier coordination.
- Adhering to Supply Chain/Supplier governance such as supplier accreditations and export controls
- Be seen by internal and external stakeholders as a subject expert for supply chain within a business. Foster a proactive relationship across multiple disciplines, businesses and within the customer base
- Ensure Procurement savings are accurately identified, recoded, validated and reported, supporting financial transparency and value for money
Your skills and experiences:
- The role requires broad Supply Chain knowledge & expertise, including good business, market and competitor knowledge, as well as depth of vision and creativity; plus, an ability to develop Supply Chain strategy to support business objectives
- Considerable commercial awareness and ability to create and negotiate terms and conditions
- The ability to utilise and interpret financial data and performance measures
- Supply Chain functional people, process and performance knowledge to develop the function using enabling technologies to exceed or meet the corporate business objectives.
- Working understanding of tool sets and IT

The UK Equipment Management Team:
This is an exciting role within the UK Equipment Management team for Warship Support at our site in Portsmouth. As a Supply Chain Principal, you will be responsible for the procurement of simple spares to complex upgrades, refits and life extension programmes. Our global resources, skills and experience, as well as our extensive
network of approved and assured suppliers, means we’re able to offer total, fully-integrated and innovative equipment management solutions anywhere in the world.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to make a big impact within a small team, owning the end to end supply chain within an exciting and growing business. The extensive exposure gained across multiple business areas within Maritime Services will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to develop their career further within BAE Systems.
