You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow – shaping a safer future, for all of us.

Role Description

As a Senior Structures Engineer, you will apply your expertise in structural sizing, analysis and finite element methods to support the development and assurance of structural designs. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will define and deliver complex engineering analysis activities, ensuring structures meet relevant certification, airworthiness and project requirements through a combination of finite element analysis, hand calculations and specialist engineering tools.

You will provide technical leadership within the structures discipline, mentoring and developing less experienced engineers while fostering effective collaboration with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders. • Perform structural sizing, finite element analysis, hand calculations and software-based assessments to demonstrate compliance with certification and project requirements
  • Conduct fatigue and damage tolerance analyses, providing sound engineering judgement and robust technical recommendations
  • Mentor and develop less experienced engineers, sharing knowledge and strengthening capability across the Structures discipline
  • Collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and maintain efficient ways of working
  • Produce clear technical reports and presentations, tailoring complex engineering information to a range of audiences
  • Apply strong stakeholder management skills to integrate activities across multiple teams and disciplines

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience
  • Demonstrable experience across multiple roles within Design and/or Structures Engineering, with a strong appreciation of related engineering disciplines
  • Experience leading and integrating activities across diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to communicate technical information effectively through high-quality reports, presentations and engineering documentation
  • Experience in structural analysis, including finite element analysis, structural sizing, fatigue and damage tolerance assessment

The Structural Analysis team

As part of our growing Structural Analysis team, you will support the development of world-leading fast jet programmes. The team provides specialist expertise in aircraft structural analysis across metallic and composite structures, using techniques ranging from traditional hand calculations to advanced finite element analysis, while supporting and developing junior engineers.
