Job Description

Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer – Assurance (Records)

Location: Barrow-In-Furness (Onsite)

Salary: £37,091 (Commensurate with skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

  • The role of the Senior Quality Engineer III is to undertake Quality Assurance of the relevant Inspection Records during build in accordance with the inspection and test plans
  • Competent Quality professional capable of working under their own initiative and providing guidance to more junior members of the Quality department within own capability and skill base areas
  • A member of the Quality Records team who escalates problems where required
  • Conduct Quality Records activities in accordance with the relevant processes and procedures and update where required
  • Domain areas include, but are not limited to: Pipe (Reactor and Platform), Mechanical, Structural, Dry Surveys

Your skills and experiences:

  • Awareness of ISO 9001/ EN9100 standards
  • Good understanding of own discipline and end to end requirements within Quality Records
  • Understand how their own role and team fit into overall objectives of the function
  • Knowledge of product safety requirements
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings/data
  • Effective stakeholder management

Quality Control Records Team:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quality Engineer – Assurance (Records) within the Quality Control Records Team, onsite at Barrow-in-Furness. You will join an established, continuously evolving and growing team at the forefront of Dreadnought & Astute submarine construction.

This is a unique opportunity to become part of the Quality team in a complex shipbuilding environment, working alongside inspection, to evidence build standards are being met for the permissioning statements, ensuring the delivery of world-class Submarine capability to the Royal Navy. The role plays an integral part in satisfying the safety of the boat before delivery.
