Role Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage the Program Change team on the Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) Program. As the Senior Project Manager – Change, you’ll be leading a cross-functional team in the management of all aspects of program change. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of change across a large and complex sustainment program. Key to your success will be your ability to provide expert advice, continue to embed and develop the change management governance and ensure the creation of high quality change proposals.

Core Duties:

  • Lead the end-to-end change management process across the program
  • Ensure accurate generation and approval of change project plans and schedule/cost impact assessments, including Value For Money (VfM) assessments
  • Assess and approve the submission of change proposals in accordance with the business DoA framework
  • Manage change budget and forecasts, generating accurate reporting to communicate the status of change to wider stakeholders
  • Lead and build a growing change team, fostering a supportive and high performance culture
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across change processes, systems and governance

About You

  • Proven significant project management experience in defence sustainment programs
  • Significant program change management experience
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills with experience in negotiation
  • Experience leading teams, reviewing proposals and influencing within a matrix organisational environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences
  • Ability to motivate individuals and teams across a number of business areas, to deliver project requirements
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder engagement
  • Eligibility to obtain an NV1 level defence security clearance

Under the Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) program, Australia’s Hobart class destroyers — HMA Ships Hobart, Brisbane and Sydney — will receive advancements that will boost capability to ensure they remain effective in a dynamic maritime environment.
