About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Program Manager to join our team within AUKUS LOB based in Adelaide.

The IT Program Manager will effectively engage stakeholders, including senior executives and the customer to achieve the required IT outcomes for this complex multi-disciplinary program of work.

This role is well suited to a senior leader who thrives in complexity, is comfortable operating with ambiguity and can integrate technical, commercial and enabling inputs to achieve the desired results.

More specifically, you will:

  • Delivery of complex projects and execution of strategic projects
  • Develop strategic relationships with industry partners and BAE Systems international entities
  • Foster a positive and collaborative culture between the key project stakeholders and the project team, including the customer, industry partners, sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Build and maintain a trusted relationship with the customer by being a focal point for customer contact
  • Ensure all project requirements and/ or objectives are properly documented in a business case and/ or project brief, as appropriate and vigorously pursued
  • Establish appropriate key success indicators (KSI’s) and recommend trade-offs between scope, quality, time and cost. Monitor relevance of KSI’s and influence enhancements where valuable
  • Ensure that products and services delivered as part of a project are in accordance with the Product Safety Policy and provide customer satisfaction
  • Develop an appropriate risk management culture, which continuously mitigates known risk areas. Ensure risk position, and business impacts, are communicated outside of the project team
  • Implement and follow project management policies and processes in line with BAE Systems Australia’s Operational Framework

About YOU

  • Proven ability to lead and deliver complex programs of work, managing dependencies, risks and competing priorities to achieve strategic outcomes with a technology focus
  • Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise updates and tailor messaging to suit different stakeholders within an IT context
  • Broad understanding of technology landscapes with the ability to contribute to aligning IT initiatives to business objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, influence and manage senior stakeholders to drive alignment and achieve program objectives.
  • Experienced in business analysis, business acumen and strategic planning, including requirements definition and business case development
  • Specific Project / Program management qualifications are not mandatory but higher education qualifications in project management / IT at degree level are highly desirable
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
