Job Title: Operations Engineer – Machine Safety

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Salary: Circa £37,091 depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be providing technical support for PUWER (Provision Use Work Equipment Regulations) assessments across the workshop and operational equipment
  • You will be supporting with assessments for our mobile plant, including – cranes, hoists, gates, barriers and specialist machinery
  • You will be responsible for maintaining knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, engineering standards and machinery directives
  • You will be delivering consistent PUWER guidance and governance to department managers across site
  • You will be supporting with the safe, legal, and compliant operation of work equipment

Essential skills:

  • You’ll have gained prior experience within an Electrical/Mechanical role within a wider machining environment
  • You’ll be able to interpret technical information, drawings and specifications accurately and effectively
  • You’ll be working towards a NEBOSH certified or be willing to gain it further

The PUWER Team:

You will be joining a small team of 4 members and have an opportunity to liaise with a variety of stakeholders and wide range of other teams within the business such as site engineering, site authority as well as maintenance and production teams. Your role provides an opportunity to work with bespoke equipment and you will be able to influence and implement changes.
