Job Description:
As a Senior Facilities Definition Engineer within the Infrastructure & Facilities Services team, you will provide technical support to Air Sector and customer locations, delivering facility assessments, developing infrastructure proposals and supporting customers in meeting defined requirements. You will work across multiple platforms, including Typhoon, with Turkiye a key focus area. Operating within a requirements‑management framework, you will help shape compliant, fit‑for‑purpose facility solutions and support new business activity across UK and international sites.
Core duties:
- Develop a detailed understanding of aircraft support and training requirements to create suitable, compliant facility and infrastructure solutions for UK and overseas airbases
- Apply engineering proficiency within a structured requirements governance framework to ensure solutions meet defined standards
- Operate within a multi‑disciplinary environment, contributing to a diverse range of engineering and infrastructure activities across multiple platforms
- Capture and interpret support and training requirements for Air Sector products, providing technical input to operational planning and new business bid submissions
- Undertake national and international travel as required to support customer engagements, facility assessments and programme delivery
Essential Skills:
- HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, with significant experience in a related discipline and practical engineering application
- Good working knowledge of fast‑jet or military aircraft gained through Industry, RAF, Royal Navy or Army environments
- Proficient computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Computer‑Aided Design is desirable but not essential
- Ability to apply project management values in day‑to‑day work, supporting effective planning and delivery of facility definition activities
The Infrastructure & Facilities Services Team:
A close‑knit team within Digital, Data & Infrastructure, supporting Air Sector and customer locations with facility definition, infrastructure planning and technical assessments. The team works across UK and international sites, contributing to new business opportunities and ensuring facility solutions meet operational and training requirements for platforms such as Typhoon.
