Job Title: Senior Engineer – Support Engineering

Salary: £42,215+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing

  • Collation of Technical Engineering Information from internal functions and external Partners to Produce a document that will support the through life management of Dreadnought Platforms
  • Stakeholder Engagement at all levels across multiple functions internally and external industry partners
  • Support the flow of technical information from stakeholders; reviewing, monitoring and assuring the document as it matures through the lifecycle
  • Ensure configuration control of the document and that information is assured at source to support document governance
  • Work collaboratively with the SSST Infrastructure Team and other members of the in-service support organisations

Your skills and experiences

Essential:

  • Stakeholder engagement experience with internal and Customer stakeholders
  • Experience of Engineering within the Maritime/Waterfront environment
  • Experience/Knowledge of Naval Base infrastructure/facilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant engineering standards, Defence Standards

Desirable:

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering HNC/HND qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience of collating/producing documents with Technical Information
  • Experience of the production & control of plans, schedules, process instructions, forms, user guides & standards

The Datum Pack Team:

The team deliver build documentation to support the Submarine through life and manage a wide variety of deliverables to support these work scopes. This role will be focusing on the SDAF129 – The Dreadnought SDA F129 presents key information needed by relevant Naval Base stakeholders, including site infrastructure & Ships Staff in a single document. It serves as an essential tool to aid in the understanding of the Submarine design, characteristics, layout and location of overside services and structures. The support services, equipment and facilities are identified to support the Dreadnought class submarine during periods of repair, maintenance, docking and berthing.

You will be regularly engaging and gaining exposure with the Submarine Supply & Support Team (SSST) – SDA customer, SSST Infrastructure Teams as well as internal BAE Engineering Functions. This role will offer great Stakeholder exposure and opportunities for personal development to build a lasting career with BAE Systems.
