Role Description:
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager – Delivery within the Program Management & Integration (PM&I) Integrated Project Team (IPT), this role provides an opportunity to contribute to a broad range of project and program management activities supporting the SSN-AUKUS Program.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, ASC and BAE Systems Marine (UK), you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of program outcomes within the Delivery Workstream and across PM&I as required.
The Delivery Workstream is currently responsible for activities including:
- Development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Program Management Plan (PMP)
- Development and maintenance of the Program Cost Estimate (PCE) and Program Staff Skills Profile (PSSP)
- Government Furnished Material (GFM) management
- Business-to-Business (B2B) activities, including transfer of Business Management System (BMS) and other key documentation from the UK to Australia
This role is ideal for a proactive and collaborative project management professional who enjoys building structure, reducing uncertainty and supporting the delivery of outcomes in a complex stakeholder environment.
The role requires regular collaboration across Australian and UK time zones.
Core Duties:
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of project, program and PMO activities within the Delivery Workstream and across PM&I as required.
- Coordinate the development, maintenance and delivery of management plans, contract deliverables, reporting products and governance artefacts.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring actions, decisions, risks and dependencies are effectively managed and progressed.
- Develop and maintain project management artefacts including schedules, action registers, issue registers, risk registers, RACIs and reporting packs.
- Prepare high-quality communications, engagement material and performance reporting, tailoring content to suit different audiences and objectives.
- Analyse delivery, workforce and cost information to support decision-making, identify emerging risks and monitor performance trends.
- Contribute to process, system and reporting improvements that enhance program delivery and performance.
- Lead discrete projects, work packages or improvement initiatives as delegated by senior management.
Essential Skills:
- Experience supporting project, program or PMO activities in a complex stakeholder environment.
- Strong project management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to build productive working relationships across organisational, geographic and corporate boundaries.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and deliver outcomes to agreed timeframes.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret information and communicate clear recommendations.
- The ability to prepare clear and effective reports, presentations and management documentation.
- Sound judgement and an appreciation of the broader impacts of decisions, communications and deliverables.
- A proactive approach to continuous learning, professional development and improvement.
- Qualifications in Project Management (desirable).
- Eligibility to obtain a Defence Security Clearance.
The AUKUS Team
