Role Description:

As the Project Manager – Delivery, you’ll be working within the Engineering function and will be responsible for driving project delivery outcomes through effective governance, financial oversight, risk management, reporting and stakeholder engagement. Partnering with Engineering leaders, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), ASC and UK stakeholders, you’ll ensure project objectives are delivered while maintaining alignment across cost, schedule, scope and quality.

This role is ideal for an experienced Project Manager who thrives in complex, highly regulated environments and can confidently manage competing priorities, influence diverse stakeholders and drive delivery outcomes across a broad project landscape.

Core Duties:

• Lead and coordinate the delivery of key Engineering project milestones, deliverables and review activities.
• Drive project governance, reporting and performance monitoring across cost, schedule, scope and quality.
• Manage project risks, issues, opportunities and dependencies, ensuring mitigation strategies are implemented and tracked.
• Support Control Account Management (CAM) activities, including financial oversight, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery of project objectives.
• Prepare and present project reports, metrics and recommendations to Engineering leadership and governance forums.
• Support future bid and proposal activities to enable ongoing program growth and delivery.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement and value-for-money initiatives that enhance project outcomes.

Essential Skills:

• Demonstrated experience in a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager or similar delivery-focused role.
• Strong project governance, reporting, risk and issue management experience.
• Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control or project performance analysis.
• Experience managing stakeholders across complex, cross-functional environments.
• Ability to influence, build relationships and drive outcomes without direct authority.
• Strong commercial awareness and sound judgement when managing competing priorities.
• Comfortable working autonomously in an evolving environment with a high degree of ambiguity.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV1 Defence Security Clearance.

The AUKUS Team

In early 2024, the Australian Government selected BAE Systems and ASC Pty Ltd to build Australia’s new fleet of nuclear-powered submarines in a significant development in the AUKUS trilateral security pact between the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.
