Project Accountant

Job Location: Williamtown Office NSW is preferred but role could also be done from Edinburgh Parks/Flinders St Offices in SA. Only these offices can be considered – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, such as hybrid, flexibility and 9-day fortnight.

Role Description:

Working in a dynamic and growing team supporting our high-profile F35 Program, you will be collaborating and supporting the Project and Finance team in maintaining the integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision making for the project. This role reports into our Senior Project Accountant.

Core Duties:

  • Preparation of financial inputs and commentary into business reporting packs
  • Prepare journals for project accruals and adjustments
  • Assist with the preparation of the project annual budget, quarterly re-forecast and monthly rolling forecast
  • Prepare the fortnightly project cash flow submission
  • Maintenance of the project ledger in conjunction with the project controls group
  • Assist with Oracle queries from the project
  • Ongoing billing processes, maintenance and monitoring, including incorporating changes resulting from Contract Change Proposal’s (CCP’s)
  • Bank guarantees administration (in conjunction with the Commercial Group)
  • Milestone schedule maintenance and monitoring, including incorporating changes resulting from Contract Change Proposal’s (CCP’s)
  • Month-end reporting activities
  • Preparation of financial reports

About You:

  • Degree qualification, and completed CA or CPA qualification
  • A curious mind and the ability to think critically and challenge and influence stakeholders
  • Experience working within a project team will be seen as favourable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience of adapting these styles to audiences at varying organisational levels.
  • Ability to understand, analyse and communicate financial results and financial consequences of specific initiatives/plans.
  • Collaborative approach to work in a team environment within finance and across functions, and adapt style to account for individual differences and motivators.
  • As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances
  • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
