Job Location: Williamstown, NSW.

There is flexibility to work from one of our other office locations. This is a full -time permanent role which offers hybrid and flexible working arrangements including a 9-day fortnight.

Role Description:

The Associate Project Manager is responsible for delivery of low value, straight forward Air Traffic Management (ATM) related projects, supporting strong customer relationships, achieving project performance objectives and driving continuous improvement across internal processes.

Core Duties:

  • Manage the delivery of ATM projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved in line with contractual, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
  • Build strong customer relationships and provide regular project performance reporting and updates.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Finance and Commercial teams to support successful project delivery.
  • Develop project proposals, including cost estimates, schedules and resource planning.
  • Monitor project finances, risks, forecasts and performance, implementing appropriate controls and escalating issues where required.
  • Manage and report on schedules and resources across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and apply lessons learned to enhance future project outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, legislative requirements and industry standards.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in project coordination or project management within a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, solve problems and deliver outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills with experience managing schedules, budgets, reporting and project documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Relevant qualifications in Project Management or a related discipline are highly regarded. Defence industry experience is advantageous.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Defence Security Clearance.

The Defence Sustainment and Solutions (DSS) Team deliver specialised sustainment services and products that optimise performance, extend asset longevity, and ensure the operational readiness of the Australian Defence Force, National Security, and their coalition partners.
