Job Title: Principal Engineer – Support Engineering (Training Services)
Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Brough, Frimley, Weymouth, Filton, Portsmouth, Scotstoun, Manchester. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

What you’ll be doing:
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) in accordance with Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT), Quality Management System (QMS) (JSP) 822
- Assist in the review and assessment of In-Service and Build changes in relations to submarine training
- Coaching and mentoring junior members of staff to deliver TNA in accordance with DSAT QMS (JSP) 822
- Identifying training gaps
- Producing TNA reports
- Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders as required
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- Completion of DSAT (or equivalent) training course in TNA (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to analyse and extract relevant data from technical documents
- Expert knowledge of DSAT compliant training deliverable outputs (or industry equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience of good relationship management
Desirable
- Completion of DSAT (or equivalent) training courses in Training Design
- Broad understanding of the Royal Navy Submarine Service
- Experience in Royal Naval Submarine Service training

The Training Services team:
You will provide subject matter technical expertise for the conduct of training analysis for the Royal Navy submarine service and BAES business units. The duties of the role will require initiative and skill in discharging the training tasks whilst offering guidance in a positive manner utilising professional training skillsets to produce consistent, quality, and coherent training outputs. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
