Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Filton, Brough or Coventry – Hybrid

What you’ll be doing:

You will support the Senior Engineering Manager in delivering Integrated Logistics Support outputs for the Strategic Weapon System Support solution. You will provide expert responses to engineering queries from the MOD and Submarine Enterprise partners on the design, safety, maintenance, and operation of in-service submarine systems. You will advise the MOD Design Authority in line with governance processes and support Engineering and Support Managers with briefs and reports. You will contribute to maintenance planning to meet Design Authority requirements, including efforts to reduce duration and manage associated risks, issues, and reporting requirements, and provide SWSS technical information from previously published sources where available.

Core duties:

  • You will have knowledge of DN Class platforms and Strategic Weapon System Support (SWSS), including operation, maintenance, and training
  • You will hold, or be working towards, Strategic Weapon System (SWS) qualification
  • You will understand MOD Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) and Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) processes
  • You will have knowledge of the engineering lifecycle and experience across several phases
  • You will demonstrate good awareness of Product Safety, Environmental policies, and Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

The Datum Pack Team:

This specialist role works with the Product Configuration team, particularly on managing the Datum Pack. As an SQEP technical advisor, you will support delivery teams managing product-related items, providing technical guidance and assurance within a growing team focused on supportability in a fast-paced environment. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
