About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Manager to join our Maritime Sustainment delivery team based at either Osborne Naval Shipyard, SA or Henderson Shipyard, WA.
Reporting to the PMO Manager, the Planning Manager is a member of the lead team, and will lead a team of Planners within the DDG program. The Planning Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the project planning processes are executed effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with organisational goals and standards.

Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the Program Planning strategy and the central Project Planning Team
- Collaborate with and support the Project Controls Manager to achieve program objectives
- Contribute to the development of the DDG Earned Value Management Plan
- Ensure implementation of program baseline is in accordance with the Earned Value Management Plan including appropriate use of all mandated tools
- Ensure schedule data integrity and compliance with contract requirements
- Provide schedule reporting and analysis data to the Senior Lead Team on a monthly basis
- Assist the project team with best practice planning techniques and advice
- Present and discuss Planning/P6 data knowledgably at Customer progress meetings
- Contribute to the management of continuous improvement of the company EVMS
- Assistance with the company internal surveillance program
- Provide technical guidance and peer review within Project Planning community
- Provide support to Customer EVM audits such as IBRs
- Establish and enforce program planning governance frameworks, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, contract and organisational policies
About YOU
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or equivalent (advantageous)
- Previous experience as a Senior Planner / Controller
- Experience with Primavera P6 and/or COBRA
- Advanced Excel skills and/ or Tableau experience would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of Earned Value Management principles
- Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders both internal and external to BAE Systems to implement business requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously under time constraints, solve problems and make decisions
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Current Baseline Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
