Role Description:

The Piping Trade Trainer, reporting to the Piping Superintendent, ensures the workforce is suitably qualified by delivering training, coaching tradespeople and apprentices, assessing learner progress, providing performance reports, validating training programs, and designing curriculum to meet business and regulatory standards.

Core Duties:

  • Ensure that the Trades workforce is Suitably Qualified and Experienced.
  • Assist towards the standardisation of training matrices
  • Work with production engineering in standardising Manufacturing Instructions for all Trades positions
  • Determine the aptitude, skills and qualification requirements of Tradespersons and design and produce resources to support same
  • Assess skill levels of Trades force
  • Provide gap, upskilling and certification training
  • Provide Verification of Competency (VOC) training
  • Produce VOC process and procedure documents
  • Work with the Trades Development team to undertake Gap & Training Needs Analysis
  • Coordinate and supervise on job training activities required under the apprenticeship framework. · Ensure the effective development and delivery of high quality and relevant training programs.
  • Develop and coordinate effective projects to meet the needs of the business (i.e. workplace project work for trainee/apprentices in line with apprenticeship and training package requirements). · Review and provide feedback and solutions for training documentation, including assessment material and training resources.
  • Liaise with facilities and procurement to ensure that tools and equipment and all required resources and materials are always maintained in good working order

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated successful subject matter expertise in relevant industry
  • Relevant trade specific training as required by Trade manager/Superintendent
  • Must hold a relevant Cert III or equivalent Trades Certificate or higher relevant to the position
  • Certificate IV in Training, Assessment and Evaluation or its successor or equivalent qualification or skills sets as outlined by Australian Skills Quality Authority Framework (ASQA). Or willing to undertake and achieve
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
