Role Description:

Join our team as a Material Controller and play a key role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials across our Shipyard Production environment. Working within an Integrated Work Team, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, customer-focused inventory management service, supporting the safe, cost-effective, and timely movement of materials through the Warehouse and Shipyard to meet operational requirements.

Core Duties:

  • Coordinate material availability to support production schedules and shipyard operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage the movement of materials between warehouse and production areas.
  • Review material requirements and shortage reports, proactively identifying and escalating risks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory data and reporting within ERP systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material control processes and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate ERP data and reporting to support operational performance and decision-making.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to coordinate material availability and address supply chain challenges.
  • Ability to participate in an after-hours and weekend call-out roster as required.

About You:

  • Previous experience as a Material Controller, Production Liaison, or similar role within a supply chain, manufacturing, shipbuilding, or other heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across Supply Chain, Production, Warehousing, and other business functions.
  • The ability to identify, investigate, and proactively resolve material and supply chain issues to minimise impacts on production schedules.
  • Experience interpreting and delivering accurate reports and insights to support operational planning, inventory management, and business performance.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on enhancing material flow, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
  • A commitment to working safely and complying with company policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances.
  • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role
