Role Description
This role will support current and future programmes in the deployment of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), facilitating the delivery of key APQP activities within Manufacturing Engineering. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining Process Flow Diagrams, Characteristics Matrices, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans.
The successful candidate will work with engineers across a range of projects to develop APQP best practices and support the implementation of APQP across the business. The role may also involve supporting Design FMEA, Measurement System Analysis, Production Part Approval Process activities, First Article Inspection and process capability studies
Core Duties
- Support current and future programmes in the deployment of Advanced Product Quality Planning
- Develop and maintain process flow diagrams, characteristics matrices, process failure mode and effects analysis, and control plans
- Work with engineers across a variety of projects to develop best-practice quality planning processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders from multiple functions to implement quality planning processes across the business.
- Support design failure mode and effects analysis, measurement system analysis, production approval activities, first article inspection, and process capability studies as required.
Essential skills
• Minimum HND or relevant degree in an Engineering discipline and/or equivalent qualification/experience
•Some experience in the engineering and manufacture of mechanical assembly products
•Experience in PFMEA (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and CP (ControlPlan)
•Experience with engineering toolsets (PLM / CAD / CAM / ERP).
•An awareness of APQP to BS EN9145 (AS9145) or experience in any other tools underpinning the standard
The Manufacturing Engineering Toolset and Process Team
The Manufacturing Engineering Toolset and Process Team supports the development of manufacturing engineering processes, methods and toolsets that enable the delivery of current and future aircraft programmes. The team works at the forefront of digital engineering, helping to develop and implement modern engineering tools, technologies and ways of working to create an increasingly digital manufacturing environment.
