Job title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Samlesbury – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements

Salary: £41,361

What you’ll be doing:

  • Mechanical Process Planning / Build Line Support Engineers – translating design information into safe, logical cost-effective manufacturing plans for detail components and advanced Assembly build structures. This will include processing bills of material, maintaining design and engineering configuration control, identification of tooling and digital manufacturing process requirements, providing shop floor support to the manufacturing teams
  • Electrical Process Planning Engineers – translating design information into safe, logical cost-effective manufacturing plans for electrical components, looms, amalgamations, racks and panels, assemblies, and installations. This will include processing bills of material, maintaining design and engineering configuration control, whilst providing shop floor support to the manufacturing teams
  • Tool Design Engineers – producing Jig & Tool Designs which are fit for purpose, encompassing design definitions, interchangeability, product safety and health & safety features within cost constraints and ongoing Build Line Support (BLS)

Your skills and experiences:

  • Engineering Toolset knowledge such as PLM (or equivalent Product Data Manager), SAPCAMS, or SFM (Shop Floor Manager), CDP and VAS. CATIA V5, Siemens NX
  • Proven experience in specific manufacturing Processes, i.e., Carbon Fibre Composites, Assembly, Fabrications, Machining, Electrics and Additive Manufacturing
  • Minimum of HNC or recognised degree and/or apprenticeship in Manufacturing Engineering, or in a similar subject
  • Experience of Geometric Dimensional Management & Tolerancing (GD&T)

The Manufacturing Engineers Team:

As a part of Manufacturing Engineers team, you will be working across a wide range of platforms such as the F35, Typhoon, Hawk and Tempest and forge the opportunity to shape our future programs. You will play a central role ensuring the delivery of projects adhere to schedules and cost whilst ensuring quality commitments to our customers are achieved. This breadth of responsibility and experience allows us to influence current and future product designs and implement new processes and technologies. You will be involved in all phases of the life cycle of our projects, from new business, design through development, manufacturing, and in-service support.
