Job title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

What you’ll be doing:
- Significantly influence, collaborate and coordinate ME activities creating the future legacy for Ship-Building on the Clyde and in our customer facilities
- Lead, develop and motivate assigned team members through positive, open and honest communications
- Define & Approve Facilities, Equipment, Tooling and Processes where appropriate and confirm and approve team member work
- Understand and Influence product design to define optimised products to meet operational capabilities
- Agree, prioritise, schedule and plan activities to meet project/programme requirements
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- HNC/HND/Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering or related field coupled with applying this in an ME Environment
- Previous experience in any of the following: Manufacturing Engineering, Process / Method Planning, NC Programming, Tool Definition, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing System Implementations or Facility Investment activities
- To understand and interpret requirements, specifications, and engineering outputs to understand cost, Manufacturing System Implementations or Facility Investment activities
Desirable:
- Understanding Lean Principles and appropriate selection/application
- Conceptual and methodical thinking to describe and define processes and procedures

The Manufacturing team:
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will have significant involvement in key Manufacturing Engineering projects. You will use your knowledge and experience to guarantee delivery of Manufacturing Engineering outputs into Manufacturing & Operations that ensure design intent can be met. The role holder will advise, coach and lead other team members as part of their daily responsibilities as well as being responsible for influencing vessel design, optimising production processes, methods, facilities, equipment and tooling to drive improvement to achieve and exceed performance in safety, quality and cost targets.
In return, this role will give you the opportunity to be significantly involved in Key Manufacturing projects. You will use your knowledge and experience to guarantee delivery of Manufacturing Engineering Projects. The role holder will advise, coach and lead other team members as a core part of their daily responsibilities. The teams you will work in and support will collaborate and integrate with Design Engineering, Detail Planning, Quality and Operations to improve competitiveness and to deliver existing and future contracts.
