JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor (PC) under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. For such maintenance and training.

The Maintenance Operations Control Supervisor (MOC) works within the Job Control team to provide effective management, co-ordination, control and communication of assigned aircraft for operational and all aircraft scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, for the King Faisal Air Academy (KFAA) Maintenance Squadron. Liaising with all departments to ensure tasks are correctly prioritised and efficiently carried out reacting, advising and reporting for routine, non-routine and emergency situations.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Management, communication & control of Maintenance Squadron section maintenance tasks, to ensure support of the OAT Flight Operations and the efficient completion of scheduled, non-scheduled, aircraft maintenance and off aircraft component maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain close liaison with all departments, Production Superintendents and section Supervisors to ensure correct prioritisation of aircraft work. Be able to demonstrate an ordered approach to decision-making and problem solving and to evaluate maintenance requirements in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledgeable of the RSAF Maintenance Management System. Be able to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure with the minimum of supervision.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of Technical English knowledge, delivery and be able to communicate clearly and concisely using correct verbal expression.
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to prioritise manpower and assets to drive forward maintenance to return aircraft and equipment to MC status.
  • Comply and fully understand radio procedures and communication discipline, fully understand the Cannibalisation process. Must understand the interaction between MOC, MSL, IM, Avionics and TAGF with Supply Squadron. Should understand the reporting concepts detailed in RSAFI 4-7166-1-2 and 4-7165-110.
  • Have an understanding of SOMO – TAGF maintenance concept, KFAA Procedural Checklists and MOI’s. Fully understand Incident Reporting (IR) and Maintenance Impound (MIIP) procedures and requirements. Fully understand SAFO concepts and requirements. Fully understand the concept of RSAF Ground Safety, Responsibilities, Accident Prevention, Accident Investigation and all reporting requirements.
  • Be fully knowledgeable of the Aircraft Master Parking Plan; also, Security, Base Safety, Base Fire Department, Supply and ARAMCO interactions with Maintenance Operations.
  • Able to acquire user expertise and become conversant with the RSAF aircraft data management and tracking computer system –MIRO Gold.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

  • Graduate of a military service, or recognised civilian organisation, aircraft technical training institute.
  • A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA

Essential

  • Extensive, proven post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR extensive experience on same aircraft type
  • Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment specific training if required.
  • Holds 2nd signature.
  • Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel.

Desirable

  • Have experience working knowledge of EASA Part 145 & 147.
  • Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures.
  • Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.
  • Proven supervisory experience within the area of definition.
  • Have completed a PC9 or PC21 Aircraft Systems specific Training courses and have relevant PC-9 or PC21 maintenance experience.

RECRUITMENT

  • The Maintenance Operations Control Supervisor will come from:
  • Military service.
  • Civilian aircraft engineering support organisations that maintain civilian and/or military fast jet aircraft.
  • RSAF recognised Technical Training Schemes.
