About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Laser Projection Technician to join our maritime function based at Osborne, SA. You will be responsible for creating laser projection files from 3D models to support accurate markout and alignment for the Hunter Class Frigates.

Key responsibilities include:

• Create laser projection files by combining 3D models, survey data, and build sequences using Windchill, Foran, and BuildIT.
• Extract and layer model elements for accurate markout aligned to job cards and build phases.
• Maintain revision control and upload documentation using Windchill.
• Liaise with Planning and Design, and support Production with onsite target setup and projection guidance.
• Troubleshoot model issues, mentor staff, and improve projection processes.

About YOU

• Experience with CAD, 3D modelling, and laser projection in shipbuilding or construction.
• Skilled in surveying, build sequencing, and design revision control systems.
• Confident working with cross-functional teams in planning, production, and engineering.
• Strong communicator with problem-solving and mentoring abilities.
• Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
