Role Description
The DevOps Engineer is a bridge between development, testing, network/infrastructure, operations and system administrators to facilitate efficient, continuous and high quality software delivery. The processes and tooling implemented by the DevOps Engineer enables Software Engineers to turn source code and associated artefacts into installation media and/or installed and configured environments.
The DevOps Engineer typically combines the skills of coding or scripting and process reengineering with exemplary team working and communication skills. The DevOps Engineer should have a good breadth of knowledge across the disciplines of software development and how software is deployed.
You will join DevOps team focused on software delivery of an advanced telecoms data processing solution. Team is responsible for maintaining existing infrastructure, creating new environments and automating tasks. Team works with Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, System Consultants, Service Delivery Managers across the UK and Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
Core skills for this role:
- Administration of Windows Server and Linux
- Understanding of computer networks (configuration and troubleshooting)
- Understanding of virtualization
- Understanding of contenerisation
- Active Directory
- Scripting in Bash/Python/PowerShell
- JIRA and Confluence toolset experience
