Job Title: Integration / Airworthiness Specialist

Location: Warton / Reading

Salary: – £54,793 + (Commensurate with skills and experience)

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting the delivery of the Certification Programme (MACP)
  • Managing stakeholders and relationships (internal and external), data flows, timing throughout process
  • Advise on robust methods of traceability from requirements to compliance evidence
  • Identify proposals for changes to the MRP part 21 to ensure design organisation approvals reflect the digital engineering transformation

Your skills and experiences:

Knowledge:

  • Degree educated in a STEM discipline or HND/HNC with time served experience
    Knowledge of the Certification Regulatory Framework (Military or Civil)
  • Model Based Systems Engineering and related techniques, processes and tools
  • Safety Engineering processes, practices and tools

Experience:

  • Delivering a Certification programme
  • Engineering integration role within any lifecycle / product area

The Airworthiness – FCAS Team:

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for an Integration / Airworthiness Specialist, to join the Airworthiness – FCAS team. This team sits within the Airworthiness and Product Integrity Digital Engineering Capability Team of BAE Systems AIR division.

The team operates across all Air products (goods and services) providing product safety, product environmental sustainability and product security engineering resource to all programmes across the business. In addition, the team delivers the independent assurance activities associated with airworthiness, product safety, product environmental sustainability and product security in a collaborative and supportive environment. This specific role will be working in the following areas:

  • Development of the future 6th generation fighter engaging with the tri-lateral Airworthiness Authorities and Regulators to ensure that airworthiness and product integrity in a digital environment is delivered safely and securely, and in line with the Certification Regulatory Framework.
  • Exploitation of technological advancements in areas such as autonomy, artificial intelligence and the continued use of product integrity data linking into the digital engineering environment.
  • Engaging with international working groups, including the supply chain, in the development of legislation, regulation and standards associated with digital certification, autonomy, AI, product safety and product security engineering.
  • Sustaining the initial integrity of Air products through production challenge and review of design, certification and assurance evidence (including product data requirements) in line with market legislation and regulatory obligations

Overseas travel to Italy and Japan and within the UK will be required and career progression and development is encouraged within the team and the wider business
