Job title: Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Warton

Salary: Circa £45,000 dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing support with the business Infrastructure – using Windows and Linux platforms
  • Design, deploy, and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and security systems
  • Use infrastructure hosting experience to physically install, configure and deploy IT hardware
  • Researching problems and issues, gather information from a range of physical and informational sources, review defects on platform or assembly to gain a complete understanding of the problem and all relevant circumstances
  • Administering a virtualised production environment using common industry toolsets

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Install, configure & support both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Extensive understanding of network architecture (PaloAlto in the main)
  • Proficient in VMware (vCenter/ESXi, vSAN, NSX, Horizon) – Installing, patching, maintenance
  • Knowledge of VXRail infrastructure
  • The successful candidate will also have experience with a variety of IT administration & management applications
  • Administration of virtualisation and cloud platforms (Citrix and Thin client technologies)

The Infrastructure Engineer Team:

You will have responsibility for delivering new enabling capabilities, developing and delivering systems and services, resolving infrastructure support issues and maintaining, managing and optimising the overall performance and availability of the infrastructure. Customers are our internal engineering and product teams and we will work to bridge the gap between infrastructure and software development and drive efficiency through high levels of automation. Whilst technology-delivery is core to our role, so too is the appreciation of how we enable the business and service availability.
