Job title: High Hazard SHE Coordinator

Location: Glascoed. On site.

Salary: £ 42,132

What you’ll be doing:

  • Advise the site on process and/or explosive safety topic
  • Support with Explosives licence applicants and justifications
  • Developing, reviewing and updating of The Site COMAH Safety Report with applicable report section SMEs
  • Provide a common approach and best practise to the identification of Major Accident Hazards and explosives safety for the site
  • Support the preparation and review of documentation including Past Accident Searches, Human Factors Assessments, Hazard Identification, Process Risk Assessments, ALARP Summary Reports and Work Area Safety Conditions
  • Liaise with other functions and at all levels in the business, External organizations and Regulators

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry i.e. COMAH, Explosives or High Hazard
  • Have a NEBOSH certificate (or equivalent/ working towards)
  • Demonstrate theoretical knowledge and some relevant practical expertise in High Hazard areas such as explosive risk management, explosive licensing or COMAH
  • Experience and knowledge of different types of Risk Assessments e.g. FMEA, Human Factors, HAZID, HAZOP, COSHH
  • Process safety knowledge and awareness

Desirable:

  • Have a recognised professional Safety and Health Management qualification NEBOSH diploma

The High Hazard team:

As a High Hazard SHE Coordinator you will have a significant input into the Basis of Safety documentation, ensuring that manufacturing processes are carried out safely by identifying and understanding process risks and advising on the necessary controls to ensure process risks are As Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALARP). You will be responsible for the development, review and continuous improvement of, but not limited to; The Site COMAH report, ALARP Summary reports, Process Risk Assessments and Past Accident Searches.

The role requires a combination of broad knowledge of SHE management theories and practices coupled with some demonstrable technical experience and competencies relating to explosives, high hazard and COMAH.
