Job title: Graduate Electronic Systems Procurement
Location: Rochester (Kent). We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 3-4 days per week.
Salary: £34,000 Per Annum + £2,000 Welcome Bonus

Role description
As a Graduate Procurement candidate, you will work with both Category Management and within Integrated Project Teams to ensure that activities deliver value for money through planned and skilful management, including coordinating supplier selection. You will be responsible for contract negotiations, placement and management of all third party requirements in relevant categories and projects. Along with developing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, you will also be responsible for producing key reports and presentations to those same stakeholders. Additionally, you will see to subsequent and appropriate management of the supply base (SRM) monitoring improving performance, whilst supporting other members of the Procurement Team as required.
Core duties
- Receive requisitions and process Purchase Orders in accordance with Procurement procedures.
- Understand budget requirements and identify opportunities for cost reduction/avoidance through effective negotiation with their supplier.
- Maintain Supplier order books and ensure that correct and current data is maintained in the ERP system.
- Process supplier returns ensuring that root cause and corrective actions are understood and adequate.
- Understand key performance indicators for the suppliers they are responsible for and be able to engage with and address issues at a senior level within the supplier organisation.
- Act as the interface between suppliers and the business, demonstrating effective relationship management skills.

Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
Qualification requirements
As a minimum requirement you must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in the following subjects: Supply Chain, Business or Finance related Degree.
