Job Title – Export Control Practitioner

Job Location: This role is based at Osborne Naval Shipyard, Adelaide

Role Description:

In this role you will understand, apply and implement Export Control (EC) compliance obligations across the business. These include compliance with all company Export Control policies and procedures and compliance with all applicable Export Control laws and regulations. Act as an Export Control Practitioner applying a level of knowledge and experience to support Business activities, to maintain the company’s licence to trade globally.

Core Duties:

  • Support the management of the Export Control framework, ensuring flow down of the Company Compliance Plan for Export Controls.
  • Prepare and be confidently deliver training to cross functional stakeholders, ensuring an acceptable standard of knowledge and awareness is present across the Business to meet Group and Regulatory requirements.
  • Apply for and obtain export authorisations, including End User Undertakings as and when required.
  • Assess incidents and tracking of corrective actions and recommendations to completion and conducting lessons learnt activities across the Company.
  • Approve access to Controlled Material, maintaining Approved Team Lists in accordance with the Company Compliance Plan.

About You:

  • Australian Citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance (Essential).
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential.
  • Strong negotiation & influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated prior experience in Defence organisation with Export Control experience.
  • Experience in the application of Export control laws and regulations to business activities including engineering, employment and supply chain practices, security arrangements, IM&T systems.
  • Experience in the deployment of Export Control policies and procedures.
  • Understanding and application of all applicable Export Control laws and regulations.
