ENGINEERING SUPPORT ANALYST

Role Description:

The Engineering Support Analyst is responsible for conducting Supportability Engineering and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities to sustain operational capability. The role provides technical assessments, manages logistics Support Analysis data, supports tool and process improvements, and ensures accurate and timely communication of supportability outcomes to stakeholders.

Core Duties:

  • Supporting the bi-annual Supportability Tool refresh including troubleshooting, bug fixing, and updating Work Instructions.
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and planning teams to ensure logistics support analysis requirements are incorporated into sustainment strategies.
  • Collaborate with condition monitoring, reliability engineering, and production teams to ensure that logistics support analysis data aligns with operational activities and maintenance schedules.
  • Participate in HOTO (Hand Over Take Over) processes, ensuring that logistics support analysis data and support plans align with the introduction of new capabilities.
  • Provide logistics support analysis input into Lifecycle Management Plans (LCMPs), ensuring requirements—such as spares management, supply chains, and maintenance plans—are aligned with operational needs to support asset sustainment over their operational life.
  • Support with obsolescence management, ensuring that the required data is available to support the obsolescence practitioner.
  • Provide regular, accurate status updates to stakeholders; engage with relevant parties to gather and verify supportability data; support collaboration across teams to achieve sustainment objectives; and organise and facilitate the monthly supportability meeting, including preparation of associated materials.

KEY CRITERIA:

  • Proven understanding of ASDEFCON principles is considered desirable
  • Previous ILS experience is considered advantageous
  • LSAR & Supportability Engineering experience is considered desirable
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations

The JORN Team

The Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) is a connected series of three remote over-the-horizon radars (OTHR) located in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia. The state-of-the-art defence system provides wide-area surveillance at ranges of 1,000 to 3,000 kilometres and plays a vital role in supporting the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) air and maritime operations, border protection, disaster relief and rescue operations
