Job Description:
The Engineer (Requirements) will be able to apply their subject matter expertise and domain experience supporting the requirements lead and the engineering manager in the Barrow office through the adequate provision of processes, and development and acceptance of engineering requirements.
Core duties:
- Provide knowledge and subject matter expertise in the development of engineering requirements. Understand the impact of these requirements on other areas of the function and wider business
- Provide with guidance, specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise in the development of tasks, qualification plans, and strategies supporting the requirements development and management activities. Understand and articulate the impact of these requirements on the wider business
- Undertake with guidance requirements activities from planning through delivery and issue/recommendation implementation
- Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the correct tools and documentation and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority
- Work with various engineering teams to improve own levels of domain knowledge and subject matter expertise, whilst ensuring stakeholder engagement and agreement is made with baselining requirements
- Provide technical guidance to other engineers and support the engineering management team in planning and controlling specialist activities
Essential Skills:
- Requirements management experience – you are able to develop, configure, maintain and baseline programme requirements using a database
- Change and Configuration Management experience – ability to apply effective change and configuration management systems, processes and controls
- Stakeholder management skills – working effectively with IPTs and integration teams to ensure requirements and solution compliance
- Engineering governance and assurance – supporting Life Cycle management, design reviews, governance, assurance and maturity
- BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent in a relevant STEM degree or willing to work towards
The BCCR Engineering – BAE Systems Capability, Capacity and Resilience team:
The Engineer – (Requirements) will be working in the BAE Systems Capability, Capacity and Resilience Programme (BCCRP) and will support the programme to deliver increased facilities and infrastructure for more efficient and capable production, investments across the supply-chain, new digital systems fit for the future and additional training capabilities to upskill the workforce. It is exiting time to join the team and provide subject matter expertise and advice to other functional and capability areas to support overall project delivery and performance.
BCCRP IPT solutions currently comprise: Shipyard Capability (SYC), People & Enablers (P&E), Digital, Supply Chain. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
